Theressa Knutson turned 94 on Feb 10th!! Her daughters threw a birthday party for her at the Care Center in Dawson. Many friends and family members had a great time.

New Hymnal Fund

TLC is still accepting donations for the new red hymnals. You may make a donation of $25.00 per hymnal. Please indicate on your donation if this is in memory of a loved one, in honor of a loved one, or a special gift from your family/individual. Each hymnal will have a placcard placed in the front cover with each donator's request. Each hymnal has "Trinity Lutheran Church" inscribed on the front. If you have any questions, please talk to one of the council memnbers.

A huge "thank you" to everyone who joined us for the Potato Klub fundraiser. A special "thanks" to all who donated supplies, prepared the meal and helped with the clean-up. $531 was raised for TLC's upcoming 125th Anniversary Celebration.

Peacemaking Workshop

A Personal Peacemaking Workshop at the Madison VFW, will be held on Saturday, January 28th from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Jesus Christ moves us to respond biblically to family, business and church conflict in our daily life. Resources are from Peacemaker Ministries - www.peacemaker.net and Ambassadors of Reconciliation - www.HisAoR.org. Pre-register by Monday, January 23rd. The cost is $7.00 by check (refundable if the event is cancelled) made payable to the VFW for refreshemnts and noon meal. Mail the check to: MMN Parish, 422 W 5th St., Madison, MN 56256. A free-will offering will be take for a take-home pamphlet and presentation by Pastor Fred Morck. This is sponsored by the Madison Area Ministerial.

On Sunday, December 11, 2011 Trinity Lutheran Church presented "Lighten Up!". It was a wonderful program which was enjoyed by a full church. Thanks to directors Jamie Clausen and Becki Olson and helpers Katie Hutt and Stephanie Olson. Thanks also to Mavis Hutt for leading the music and to Joe & Mason Hutt on the horns and everyone else behind the scenes. After the program everyone enjoyed a delicious brunch in the Fellowship Hall. Thanks also to everyone who helped with the food. A great time was enjoyed by everyone!!

The Dawson Area Food Shelf, located at Grace Lutheran Church, Dawson, is looking for items to be donated Most wanted items are as follows: juices, crackers, cookies, tuna, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly/jam, ketchup, mustard, rice, jello, breakfast cereal, paper products such as paper towels and toilet paper, shampoo and bar soap. Instead of donating food items, you also have the option to donate money. Please make checks payable to: Dawson Area Food Shelf and mail them to PO Box 4, Dawson, MN 56232. By doing this, they can purchase whatever items are needed when they are running low.

Cemetery Fund Update

The gazebo at the TLC Cemetery is up. The work on the directory and the markers are still in progress. The cemetery board is still taking donations for the fund. Thanks again to all who have given thus far.

CPR Class

Shannon Kurtenbach would like to have members of the congregation sign up to take a CPR class to learn how to use our new AED. The class size is limited to 9 people, but if there is enough interest, we would be able to do a couple classes. Shannon is taking suggestions on where the class could be held. The class is $15 per person and an extra $4 if you would want a card to show your certification. Please get in touch with Shannon if you are interested.

Youth Gathering

The Southwestern Minnesota Synod Junior High Youth Gathering will take place in Willmar from November 18th - 20th. This is a wonderful opportunity for our young folks. All confirmation students are encouraged to attend. Seventh grade students are also invited to attend with a parent chaperone. The cost of the event is $40.00 per person plus hotel cost for one night. Following the event, Trinity students will be reimbursed half of the expense. To register, confirmation students must complete the medical release form included in the confirmation packets and return them to Pastor Lori no later than October 19th. Any other students may pick up a form from Pastor Lori.

Kingdom Kids

Grace Lutheran Church, Dawson, will be having "Kingdom Kids" on Wednesdays starting September 21st from 3:15-6:00pm for all 1st-6th graders. Come and grow in the faith through building a relationship with Christ and other Kingdom Kids! Bible learning, drama, music, hands-on activities, games and fun. Snack and supper are provided.

Operation Christmas Child

We are also collecting shoe boxes of any size. The TLC students will be packing the boxes on October 26th, so please get your items to the church by that date.

Today was The Gift of the Bible Sunday. The 3rd graders of TLC along with their parents were invited to the front of the church. Those receiving their Bible were: Hailey Bendickson, Paige Clausen, Wylie Wiebe, Sophia Richards, Slade Irvine, Stone Irvine, Grace Johnson, Austin Moen, Hadleigh Olson, Teagan Strand and Jayden Lukken. Congratulations!! Assisting Pastor Lori in giving out the Bibles was the confirmation class.

TLC has purchased the Evangelical Lutheran Worship red hymnal that was released in 2006. We would like to give everyone the opportunity to gift these to the church. TLC Annual Dinner

The 27th Annual TLC dinner was held on Sunday, September 18th after the church service. The men of the church served a de-li-cious dinner that was enjoyed by nearly 400 people. It was great to have so many visitors to the church. The beautiful handmade quilt that was donated by Helen Leasman, was won by Paul Luitjens. Congratulations Paul!! A big "Thank-You" goes out to everyone that helped make the day a huge success.

Today's Sunday School Christmas Program that was scheduled to be held during the 10:15 AM worship service has been postponed to next Sunday, December 19th. There will be no church service or Sunday School this morning.

The Christmas program, bake sale and brunch will be held Sunday, December 19th beginning at 10:15 AM. Please join us and gather in the excitement the Sunday School children bring us as we celebrate in Our Saviour's birth.

Trinity Lutheran is proud to announce our new pastor who began serving our congregation on July 1, 2010. Pastor Lori Wold is no stranger to our church. She has been a member for numerous years and was ordained at Trinity in May. (See pictures from her ordination service in the May archive).

We welcome all of you to visit our church and attend Sunday Morning Worship service with us. Our summer services are held at 9:00 AM each Sunday morning. Please join us!
